The Shropshire Hamper Ltd trading as The Ludlow Hamper Company. Regsitered in England and Wales, number 05498939.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
We don't have any "Small Print" - here's how we do business:
Making A Purchase
You can, of course, give us a ring on 01952 432175 and place an order over the phone, or deal with us in writing or over the fax. But the main point of this web site is to allow you to shop online.
However you shop, all you have to do is browse our Product Range, clicking on items that you wish to buy to put them into your virtual shopping cart. When you have finished choosing, click on "Order" and you move to the virtual checkout stage, where the software prompts you for the details that we need to have in order to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept credit and debit card payments which are processed using a secure server - our payment processors are SecureTrading and they take care of all security issues. Our system is set up to charge credit and debit cards in Sterling (GBP) - if you're shopping from outside the UK, your card company will convert our Sterling price into your local currency and pop it on your next card statement.
We accept most cards. You can pay us online or offline using American Express, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, JCB, UK Maestro (Switch), Mastercard, and Solo. We do not charge you until we are ready to ship your order.
Shipping And Handling
Our hampers are packed to allow for passage through multiple handling depots (carriers).
All the prices you see on this website include our standard, Wednesday shipping charge to UK mainland addresses. Our couriers apply a surcharge for delivery to some addresses - we'll advise you if you fall into one of those zones. We can arrange Saturday morning and timed deliveries if you like, but our couriers ask us for more money. Ask us, and we'll tell you how much in your case.
Post and Packing Charges
We normally ship on Wednesday (we need to receive your order before 3pm Monday) for delivery on Thursday. Our prices include next day delivery by overnight courier (if our couriers are very busy delivery may slip to the following morning but this is rare) to most mainland UK destinations but our couriers charge £9 extra for some parts of Scotland, which we have to pass on to you. Sorry. We'll tell you first.
We can arrange delivery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays for an additional cost of £3.50 - please let us know. Deliveries on Saturdays and timed deliveries are available but again at an extra cost. Let us know what your requirements are and we'll be happy to help. Unfortunately we are unable to ship any of our products to addresses outside the UK at this time. If you have any questions about delivery or any special delivery requirements please give us a call on 01952 432175.
For birthdays and other special occasions why not send us a card to enclose with the order or give us a call to see how we can help to make your order a present to remember.
If you have any other special delivery requirements let us know and our staff will be happy to help.
International orders
Unfortunately we can't ship to addresses outside the UK at this time.
Delivery Schedule
Our standard shipping charges can also cover despatch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening for delivery the following day. If you have a special requirement, we'll do all we can to satisfy it, but may have to charge you more - talk to us.
Back Orders
In the very rare event that we can't ship your chosen products on your chosen day, we'll get in touch to advise you and take further instructions. We avoid 'back order" situations if at all possible.
Damaged Goods
Our hampers are packed in such a way that they are suitable for travelling through multiple handling depots of carriers. However if any contents of our hampers are damaged on receipt please notify us within 48 hours of delivery in writing by fax or by e-mail at info@theludlowhampercompany.co.uk.
Damaged contents should be returned to us suitably packaged and we will then refund or replace the item(s) concerned upon receipt and inspection.
Unforeseen Circumstances
While we make every effort to fulfill our orders with all expediency, occasions may arise when this may not be possible due to circumstances outside our control such as - but not limited to - Acts of God, Acts of Government, Fire, Flood, Labour Disputes, Lockouts, Drought, Strike or War, Explosion, Civil Disturbance, Technical failures with power transmission, telecommunications and information technology.
Substitutions
We will always try to send the hampers as described on the website, however we are dealing with small producers who from time to time may have difficulties, in these cases we reserve the right to substitute items to the same or greater value.
Tax Charges
As a luxury item our hampers are subject to standard rate VAT. This has been included in all of our prices. What you see is what you pay. We have no hidden charges.
Credit Card Security
Your credit or debit credit card number will be encrypted when you place your order. The software we are using applies 128 bit encryption before passing your card number over to us.
Guarantee
You have our no-quibble, money-back guarantee.
Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy is simple - we don't share your details with anyone else. Ever.
We collect information about you when you order, when you ask us for information and if you decide to sign up to our email mailing list. Information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Whenever we email you, you are free to let us know that you don't want any further emails from us - just say, and we'll stop contacting you.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item until the order is confirmed and paid.
We don't store or capture any other information, other than logging your IP address and session info such as the duration of the visit and the type of browser you used. This is automatically undertaken by our web server and is only used for system administration and to provide statistics which we analyse from time to time to evaluate use of our site. This information doesn't identify you to us as an individual, and we don't track your behaviour on our site and link it to you. We use summary data in house to improve our service to customers, and might share some statistics and summaries, without any elements of personal data attached, with other companies - for instance to persuade them to advertise with us.
Glossary of terms - or what we are banging on about above...
Browser: software that locates and displays Web pages. You will probably be using Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari or Google Chrome as your browser.
Cookie: a small, text message given to a web browser by a web server. Your browser stores this cookie as a file and will send it back to the web server at appropriate moments. Cookies are used by web servers to identify users and to personalise their visits by customising web pages - for instance, a cookie can be used to deliver a web page which welcomes you by name, every time you visit a the web site that created it and placed it on your machine. Some sites use cookies to store your personal information - your name, e-mail address and interests. Our web site uses cookies only as described above.
IP (Internet Protocol): The Internet is, in effect, a giant network that connects computers together. Protocols and technical standards ensure that all the computers connected to the Internet can exhange data and messages successfully. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is the main standard that underpins the Internet network.
IP address: your computer will have a unique address assigned to it while it is connected to the Internet. An IP address is numeric, has four sections separated by a full stop and each section can have up to three digits. It is most likely that your computer will have a temporary IP address assigned to it, just for the duration of an online session, and if we really wanted to we could work out which Internet Access service you use to connect to the Internet by examining your IP address.
Web Server: a computer that is connected to the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is used to store the data needed to serve up web pages in response to requests from browser software. When you type www.theludlowhampercompany.co.uk into your browser's address window, you send a request over the internet which reaches our web server and is a request for it to send your browser the home page of our site.
